State AGs, GMO and Conventional Farmers Are Protecting Bayer-Monsanto
GMO/Toxin Free USA reports:
“11 State Attorneys General Launch Effort to Protect Bayer-Monsanto Against Roundup-Cancer Lawsuits: Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers, joined by AGs in Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Montana, North Dakota, South Carolina, and South Dakota, are pressing the EPA to overturn California’s ability to put cancer warning labels on Roundup and other carcinogenic pesticides. These state AGs, along with some GMO/conventional farmers, are trying to mislead the public.
They’re framing the issue as California taking away their right to farm as they please. First of all, a cancer warning label is not a ban (even though carcinogenic Roundup should be banned). Secondly, no state should be able to tell another state they can’t warn consumers that certain toxic pesticides can cause cancer.
What this is really about is protecting Bayer-Monsanto and other corporate poison pushers from lawsuits. Bayer-Monsanto’s stock has tanked since the Roundup-cancer lawsuits began and the corporation stands to lose multiple billions of dollars as litigation continues. These state AGs are working for Bayer.
The study also stated that the use of pesticides did not just increase the risk of developing cancer for the farmers and their families, it increased the risk for the entire community. THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY. So as more studies come out, will we get to a point in the future when people can tell the farmers who use these pesticides? We don’t know of any other situation where one neighbor can poison another and get away with it. Only GMO/conventional farmers and corporations get away with giving people chronic diseases.” — GMO/Toxin Free USA
